Overall Purpose of the Job The overall purpose of the job is to ensure products meet consistently high standards of quality for the area of responsibility. In order to deliver the expected standards, the Manufacturing Quality Manager will be required to work at a variety of levels interfacing with directors, supply chain staff, and vendors. The job ensures that consistent manufacturing standards are understood and adhered to, that personnel are competent, equipment is fit for purpose, and the global support structure is appropriate. The position proactively assists in the maintenance, awareness and development of the area of responsibility and to provide information, advice and support to personnel within this department. To supervise and be accountable for delivery of products against our client’s quality assurance and HSE requirements. This is a broad role where the holder must be able to prioritise workload and deal with key issues, many of which have varying delivery timeframes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in a Quality role.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor qualification (IRCA Approved).
  • Experience of International Standards including ISO 9001.
  • Experience with measuring, monitoring, and testing equipment and devices.
  • Experience of process and procedure writing.
  • Working Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis and Statistical Analysis tools.
  • Working Knowledge of other International Standards including API Q2, API 6A & 14A and BS EN 10204.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment screenings (ie background check, drug/alcohol test).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with Industry standards and organisational needs.
  • Improve manufacturing quality processes across the area of responsibility.
  • Maintain and manage the quality processes, procedures and plans operated within the area of responsibility in accordance with ISO9001:2015 and maintaining accreditation accordingly.
  • Qualify new suppliers by planning and conducting on-site or remote audits to evaluate their quality systems, processes, and compliance with company standards requirements prior to approval.
  • Conduct periodic audits of approved suppliers to ensure ongoing compliance with quality requirements, identify risks or gaps, and drive corrective actions to maintain and improve supplier performance.
  • Review, approve, or reject quality receiving records supplied by suppliers.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) on products from new and existing suppliers to verify conformance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and purchase requirements prior to production release.
  • Work closely with Group Engineering to ensure all product operating documentation is current and appropriate.
  • Ensure quality is maintained on new projects with appropriate personnel, equipment and operating procedures.
  • Ensure best practice is developed and employed across all operating regions driving a consistent high standard and approach to service quality management.
  • Reduce Non-Productive Time attributable to Expro landing strings.
  • Maintain and manage interfaces between internal departments to ensure understanding and compliance with the QA requirements.
  • Support investigations on quality incidents and drive lessons learned.
  • Control and develop department and project specific quality processes and procedures.
  • Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies, procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro’s reputation is minimised. Provide leadership in all ethical issues; ensure employees are aware of Expro’s compliance requirements and feel able to report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
  • Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies, procedures, processes & systems. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Act on reported deficiencies and approve deviations from standard procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to and comply with all applicable Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) policies, procedures and processes. Provide leadership in QHSE; encourage employees to take responsibility and be accountable for their own and others’ safety and provide an environment where they feel authorised to stop any unsafe job. Ensure that all incidents and non-conformances are reported in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines; ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions raised as required; where appropriate, participates in incident investigations.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach direct reports and ensure completion of their Employee Development Plans. Where applicable, ensure that training and competency programs are in place to facilitate the mentoring of subordinates through the competency system. Conduct competency assessments when required.
