About The Position

The Quality Manager serves as the site‑level subject matter expert (SME) for the Quality Management System (QMS) and is responsible for the effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the QMS at the assigned location. This role provides authoritative guidance on quality management principles, requirements, and best practices, ensuring consistent application across operations, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and support functions. The Quality Manager is accountable for site compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, regulatory expectations, and internal procedures. Responsibilities include leading site‑level internal and external audits, driving corrective and preventive actions, managing quality performance metrics, overseeing supplier quality activities impacting the site, and promoting a strong quality culture. The role interfaces extensively with site leadership, customers, suppliers, and external auditors and ensures alignment with any applicable corporate quality frameworks while maintaining ownership of local QMS effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Quality Management Systems, including practical application, interpretation, and audit response.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards.
  • Working knowledge of RF products, RF manufacturing processes, and RF testing methodologies preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and experience with structured root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency with quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 5‑Why, process mapping, and corrective action systems.
  • Ability to work effectively across cross‑functional teams and influence at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline required;
  • or equivalent combination of education and progressive quality management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management within a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for Quality Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Quality Management System SME, including interpretation, application, and audit response.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training preferred.
  • Experience supporting First Article Inspection (e.g., AS9102) preferred.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing supporting RF, electromechanical, optical, or surge protection products strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting regulated or high‑reliability markets (commercial, automotive, medical, defense) preferred.
  • ASQ CQM, CQE, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • IPC‑A‑600, J‑STD‑001, or related industry training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary site‑level SME for the Quality Management System, providing authoritative guidance on requirements, interpretation, and application.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the site QMS in alignment with applicable standards, customer requirements, and business objectives.
  • Ensure quality requirements are effectively flowed down into operational, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier processes.
  • Promote quality awareness, accountability, and risk‑based thinking across all site functions
  • Plan, administer, and lead the site internal audit program.
  • Act as the primary quality point of contact for external audits, customer audits, and third‑party certification audits.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action activities using structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of nonconformances and verification of corrective action effectiveness.
  • Provide quality leadership across a diverse portfolio of hardware products, including RF, electromechanical, optical, and surge protection devices.
  • Ensure manufacturing, inspection, test, and validation processes are appropriately defined and implemented based on product technology, application, and risk profile.
  • Support quality activities across multiple end markets, including commercial, automotive, medical, and defense, ensuring alignment with applicable customer, regulatory, and reliability expectations.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure product verification, validation, and testing activities are effective, repeatable, and compliant with quality and customer requirements.
  • Provide quality oversight of product‑specific test methodologies, including RF, electrical, mechanical, optical, and environmental testing, as applicable.
  • Lead or support investigation and resolution of product and process nonconformances using structured root cause analysis, ensuring corrective actions address systemic risk.
  • Ensure quality requirements are effectively translated into manufacturing and test processes across all product families.
  • Support customer interactions related to product quality, performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Supplier Quality to ensure supplier performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Support evaluation, qualification, and monitoring of suppliers providing RF components, assemblies, materials, and test services.
  • Participate in supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Collect, analyze, and trend quality performance data (defects, rework, scrap, audit findings, customer issues).
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports and risk assessments to site and senior leadership.
  • Identify systemic risks and opportunities for improvement based on data analysis.
  • Ensure the Quality team is appropriately staffed, trained, and technically competent.
  • Provide coaching, development, and leadership to quality personnel.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus.
