About The Position

In this hands-on role, the Quality Manager will be responsible for assuring consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing best manufacturing practices. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) that complies with customer and regulatory requirements and will liaison with customers, suppliers and shippers on matters relating to quality and the management system. Duties include:

Requirements

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a Quality role within a small manufacturing environment
  • You are skilled in maintaining a QMS and are familiar with Metrology tools and GR&R principals
  • You are hands-on, ready to assist when needed
  • You are familiar with Lean-related tools and approaches, as well as with manufacturing management systems/practices/cultures.
  • You are a US Citizen and located within the CT area

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and reports product conformance to customer specifications through inspection of raw materials, work in process and finished goods.
  • Reviews production process for conformance to quality standards
  • Reports and tracks significant deviations from quality standards and recommends corrective action.
  • Establishes training for employees on quality issues
  • Participates in new product development to ensure proper quality assurance can be implemented prior to beginning production
  • Visits suppliers to review quality concerns and issues
  • Determines validity of customer complaints via customer contact, blueprint interpretation (GD&T) and/or inspection of returned goods.
  • Completes quality surveys received from current or potential customers
  • Maintains calibration system for all measuring equipment
  • Develops job packages for press operators
  • Maintains master files of customer prints.
  • Develops and maintains setup files as well as final inspection files for all customer part numbers
  • Supervises Quality inspectors to ensure performance of all internal and external quality checks.
  • Performs and oversees PPAP and First Article Inspections per customer requirements.
