About The Position

Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. Palmdale Regional Medical Center's new Labor and Delivery unit - The Birth Place - is now open! The 33,000-square-foot unit features 25 private patient rooms, six labor/delivery/recovery suites and two surgical suites. The Rehabilitation Institute, the hospital features 184 licensed acute care beds as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack) and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department. Palmdale Regional Medical Center believes in 'Community Service Excellence' and supports nonprofit agencies such as the American Cancer Society, United Way, the Antelope Valley Boys and Girls Club and performing arts organizations. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 year's previous experience as an RN with at least 1 year recent experience in an acute care facility.
  • 1 - 2 years previous education and management/leadership experience required.
  • RN certification from a nationally recognized accrediting organization, BSN in process of completion.
  • RN licensed by the State of California.
  • American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, AND PALS at time of employment.
  • CPI required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director and has initial oversight and staff scheduling for the department.
  • Provides leadership for the department and assists with direction in achieving service growth and achievement.
  • Assists in the development and evaluation of all nursing personnel.
  • Maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services.
  • Assists director to assure that HC AHPS, patient, employee, and physicians satisfaction scores are all in acceptable ranges and improving.
  • Assures department is Survey ready at all times, including nursing documentation, facility, and all National Patient Safety Goals.
