About The Position
The Quality Manager (QM) at Variosystems Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the Quality Department, which encompasses both Quality Management and Quality Assurance functions. This position reports directly to the Vice President of North America and plays a crucial role in the planning, organization, and management of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) to support the company's growth and quality initiatives. The QM is tasked with providing strategic and operational support for customer programs, focusing on quality and associated risks. This includes the development of risk-based quality plans for both existing and new product introductions, defining inspection criteria and methods, and implementing the quality plan through Quality Control processes. In this role, the QM will be responsible for reporting quality trends and issues to Senior Leadership, verifying and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the QMS, and conducting periodic management reviews as well as annual reviews of applicable certifications. The QM will monitor and report on QMS performance, customer satisfaction, and supplier quality, while also analyzing internal, vendor, and customer audit results. A key aspect of the role involves providing direction to Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams, ensuring exceptional product quality through continuous improvement efforts, and conducting quality-related investigative and root-cause analysis. The QM will interact with customers regarding perceived non-compliance issues and support the Customer Organization with Quarterly Business Reviews and client presentations. Additionally, the QM will maintain material traceability as required, implement inspection, testing, and evaluation methods, and train production line staff in production practices and quality assessment. The role also involves tracking products through the manufacturing process and conducting detailed inspections of final products.
