Define and manage methods of measuring product quality. Improve process quality using data collected from the operations and direct problem-solving initiatives. Develop and lead Six Sigma continuous improvement programs. Plans, directs, and coordinates quality activities to ensure that goals or objectives of product performance are accomplished by performing the following duties personally, through subordinates or a designee.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Technical Discipline or ten (10) to fifteen (15) years demonstrated experience in Quality Management.
  • Thorough technical understanding of quality measurement techniques and associated equipment.
  • Has command of proper Six Sigma methodology.
  • Computer skills required for data analysis, multiple graphs, reports and charts.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

  • SQFI and HACCP Certification, CPR and first-aid Certified, optional ISO, Certified Quality Manager, Auditor, Engineer, Technician or Six Sigma Black Belt

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a quality management system including quality manuals and auditing of practices. Lead validation processes using statistical sampling plans to develop process stability characteristics. Implement design of experiments to test processes for improvements and establish process centerlines.
  • Direct establishment of standards, procedures and integrate program plans for achieving and maintaining the required level of product quality, reliability, and functional validity, including supplier programs and audits ensuring consistent quality of critical incoming production supplies and materials.
  • Provide in-process and final product specifications for compatibility to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead interface of operations, sales and customers to acquire information and resolve issues.
  • Manage the quality performance measurement systems to promote and implement continuous quality improvements. Ensure establishment of test protocols. Define specifications and calibration methods of test equipment. Implement and maintain a Six Sigma program. Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and monitor process capabilities.
  • Provide personnel training on quality assurance topics in order to improve employee knowledge base throughout the division.
  • Utilize Cost of Quality Report to establish measurable criteria and maintain cost reduction as a principle business objective and a measure of effectiveness for the overall management of quality.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the Quality mission in an effective and efficient manner.  Interview and recommend applicants for hire as Quality employees.
  • Implement methods, tools and procedures to test, record and assess quality. Train personnel in the applications, in order to maintain operational quality standards and specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate work, trains, motivate, monitor and evaluate performance of quality employees; ensuring their ability to safely operate testing equipment; coach, record, and discipline as necessary.
  • Responsible for budgets and business planning for department and responsible for establishing and meeting department goals and objectives.
  • Track, analyze, and lead initiatives for quality and customer complaint issues within the division including supplier issues and internal non-conformances.  Maintain continuous communication with all plants and disciplines to assure production and customer service support needs are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Provide quality evaluations of new product performance for market surveys, competitor product evaluation, etc., for product marketing.
  • Manage ISO, AIB, SQF, HACCP programs, and other customer required programs and or manuals including; maintenance of records for all quality checks, testing and regulatory compliance. Prepare for and assist with external customer and other regulatory audits and perform internal audits to drive continuous improvements.
