We are currently recruiting for a site independent Quality Manager (Governance & Systems) to support the business with the responsibility of developing, implementing, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS). Working across various SMO locations, this role will ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and external regulations (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, RISQS, RISAS), and will also support operational excellence by driving quality performance, reducing non-conformance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Quality Management within a regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Experience with Business Management Systems and Quality Management in Projects (QMiP).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with tools such as 8D, FMEA, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across the organisation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Leading the internal audit process and coordinating external audits to ensure compliance with ISO and RISQS standards.
  • Managing and reporting on key quality metrics including Process Quality and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and leading root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed quality into project lifecycles and operational workflows.
  • Supporting Supplier Quality Management (SQM) to ensure supplier compliance and reduce supplier-related non-conformances.
  • Providing training and guidance to internal teams on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Owning and managing the Rolling Stock / Customer Services / Edinburgh Trams BMS application.
