We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented ISO 9001/AS9100 Lead Auditor Quality Management Engineer to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and auditing of quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to industry regulations, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring high-quality products and processes.

Requirements

  • Certification as an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Lead Auditor (e.g., IRCA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in quality management systems, auditing, and compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace industry requirements, including AS9100 standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to identify non-conformances and improvement opportunities.
  • Proficient in quality tools such as root cause analysis, corrective action processes, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed to conduct audits and assessments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Familiarity with additional standards such as ISO 14001, AS9110, or Nadcap.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QMS policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements while promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and company policies.
  • Document audit findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on their implementation.
  • Serve as the lead auditor for external audits, including customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
  • Coordinate with certification bodies for ISO 9001/AS9100 audits and ensure successful certification and recertification.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions based on audit results and non-conformance reports.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements and QMS best practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for quality standards and mentor quality team members.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of QMS processes, audit reports, and corrective action plans.
  • Generate regular quality metrics and reports to communicate performance trends to management.
  • Evaluate supplier quality systems and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Work closely with customers to address quality concerns and meet their specific requirements.
