About The Position

The Quality Management System (QMS) Technician plays an essential role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of KMM's Quality Management System, ensuring unwavering compliance with AS9100 standards. This position is responsible for sustaining robust procedures, processes, and documentation that fulfill rigorous regulatory, customer, and industry expectations-driving excellence in product quality, operational safety, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing the QMS by accurately creating, tracking, distributing, and securely archiving quality documents. The QMS Technician maintains strict revision control and upholds AS9100 documentation standards, ensuring information remains precise, accessible, and audit-ready. This role supports both internal and external audits and collaborates cross-functionally to align quality initiatives with customer-specific requirements. By fostering a culture of quality across all departments, the QMS Technician champions operational integrity and contributes to KMM's long-term success. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in Quality assurance or QMS administration
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel and Outlook. Use of QT9 QMS Software is a plus
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and identify discrepancies in processes or documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, auditors or customers
  • Analytical mindset to identify issues and propose effective solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while utilizing Standard Work methodologies
  • Collaborative approach to working with multiple groups such as production, engineering and management
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving quality standards and organization needs
  • Understanding of technical writing best practices to ensure documentation meets the needs of interested parties
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods
  • May need to lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Frequent reaching above, at, or below shoulder level; handling documents and office equipment
  • Regular use of a computer keyboard and mouse, requiring fine motor skills and finger dexterity
  • Ability to read small print and view computer screens for long periods
  • Capable of moving between work areas within the facility; occasional travel to other locations may be required
  • Requires speaking and hearing abilities for phone calls, meetings, and employee interactions
  • Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate effectively, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality assurance or QMS administration in a manufacturing environment
  • Use of QT9 QMS Software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of QMS processes, procedures, and work instructions to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Prepare documentation and checklists, and coordinate audit schedules to support internal and external audits.
  • Participate in the Internal Audit Program by serving as an Internal Auditor.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements aligned with AS9100 requirements.
  • Contribute to various QMS-related projects as needed.
  • Assist with the management and control of quality documentation, including procedures, forms, and records- ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and effective revision control.
  • Assist in maintaining the Document Control System and related processes, including system updates and user access administration.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to create new documents and ensure proper integration across functional areas.
  • Serve as a liaison across departments to confirm timely updates and availability of documents.
  • Support updates to QMS software application data, including employee records, user accounts, and audit question sets.
  • Assist with configuration and ongoing maintenance of the QMS software Document Control Module.
  • Provide support for the setup and upkeep of the QMS software Training Module.
