About The Position

Who will you be working with? Shuttlewagon, a Wabtec Company, is a worldwide leader in building, servicing and remanufacturing mobile material handers. The open Quality Leader role is responsible for all aspects of quality (manufacturing, supplier and QMS), including but not limited to qualifying new suppliers, developing existing suppliers, working with Sourcing to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, and driving resolution of supplier quality problems and corrective actions. The Quality Leader will also drive and own updating, managing and driving conformance to the QMS to support ongoing ISO certification. The Quality Leader will execute process audits, maintain gage calibration, identify and drive resolution to non-conformances and improve the special process capabilities of the plant. Through ownership of the Quality Management System, data-driven metrics, and proactive problem-solving, this role will reduce variation, prevent quality escapes, and lower the cost of poor quality. By partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Sourcing, and suppliers, the Quality Leader will strengthen manufacturing and supplier performance, ensure compliance with standards and certifications, and embed continuous improvement as a shared responsibility across the organization. What do we want to know about you? Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) from an accredited university or college. 5+ years of experience in a Supplier or Manufacturing Quality role 5+ Years in a manufacturing environment Ability to travel to suppliers and Wabtec manufacturing locations as needed Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills Able to work effectively in a self-directed environment Proficient user of Microsoft product suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Able to build and utilize pivot tables. Ability to interpret blueprints/drawings and specifications Strong customer focus Experience with PPAP/APQP or similar part qualification processes Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement Knowledge of ISO, IRIS, AAR or other certifying bodies’ standards, quality procedures, and audit techniques Statistically literate and familiar with LEAN/Six Sigma quality concepts and tools Ability to analyze problems and identify root causes Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to influence others and lead cross-functional teams Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously Demonstrated ability to lead projects. Utilize Business Process Management Systems (e.g. Quality Management Systems, Integrated Management Systems) Work to develop, implement, and monitor overall process mapping and strategy for quality improvement purposes Define, monitor, execute and improve quality metrics (NCMRs, CARs/SCARs, Audits, Gage Calibration, Manufacturing Losses, MFG/Supplier PPAPs and FAIs, etc.) Communicate, support and integrate with direct team, manager, local operations team and customer(s); Work cross-functionally with people from the business unit Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research Ensure the plant’s production processes are executed per relevant specifications Identify process risks, implement appropriate control points and preventive measures, and execute process audits to ensure effective process control and evidence of such Lead responsiveness – with a sense of urgency - on customer quality and reliability related issues Meet Quality related financial objectives Develop business metrics to accurately reflect performance and drive accountability Collect, analyze, summarize and drive performance improvement actions as appropriate Coordinate business updates on emerging issues and actions for closure. Lead containment of supplier/manufacturing quality escapes and root cause investigations Drive effective cost recovery from suppliers for Cost of Poor quality (Supplier Accountability Process) Closely monitor supplier performance to drive defect reduction, recovery plans and SCARs Mentor/coach key suppliers to achieve industrial standards of excellence Provide shop support for supplier failures Drive supplier selection and part qualification through supplier assessment audits and robust Supplier PPAP qualification processes Provide technical support and guidance to assure product quality and conformance Resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent What about the physical demands of the job? Work is primarily light duty and requires the ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds. This position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk unassisted. Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Normal correctable vision is required. Travel for this role will be limited. The salary rate for this role is currently $79100-112800 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. Requirements

Responsibilities
