This position is located in our Iola, Wisconsin facility Summary You will be the primary authority on quality for our thermoplastic injection molding and thermoset transfer molding operations. Your mission is to maintain our rigorous standards and lead the plant through successful external ISO audits. Are you looking for a leadership role where you can build upon a legacy of excellence? Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of small-component molding and SPC
  • Direct experience with vision-based measurement systems (e.g., MicroView Vertex, Keyence LM)
  • A strong high-level understanding of GD&T

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and maintain quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Develop and lead training classes to acclimate new Component Division Production Assemblers to Grayhill processes, policies and quality requirements including SPC and QSM.
  • Coordinate annual training updates for Component Division Production Assemblers.
  • Lead the audit inspection of Component Division Production Orders and Toolroom piece parts.
  • Participate in efforts to reduce the occurrence of production audit rejects.
  • Contain and return audit rejects to the Plant Operations Leader for inspection.
  • Manage military A&B testing requirement process.
  • Manage special customer testing and review customer prints pertaining to testing. Coordinate efforts with Corporate Quality Lab.
  • Maintain quality records for customer review and supply special Certificate of Conformance and/or testing results as required.
  • Coordinate special customer testing with Corporate Quality Lab and Planners.
  • Participate in meetings on process design that effect quality, including DFMEA.
  • Assist Purchasing and vendors with piece part problems.
  • Communicate quality issues to Planners and other appropriate departments.
  • Manage the Internal Corrective Action Request (ICA) process
  • Review CCAs and implement changes to reduce occurrences.
  • When required, obtain from Sales customer First Article requirements. Review, interpret and ensure requirements are understood and met. Maintain records and have available for customer review.
  • In conjunction with the corporate Quality group, perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Participate in the Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis on new products and processes associated with new and existing products.
  • Review, implement and maintain ISO standards as related to training and production quality.
  • Manage a total of 5 to 10 employees in the Manufacturing Quality Department. Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these team members. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
