About The Position

Position Overview: Responsible for specific aspects of Quality Assurance testing and lab procedures as assigned. Requires a basic understanding of the blow molding and injection processes; the ability to understand and follow basic testing practices and guidelines; the ability to recognize quality problems; and the ability to perform measurements and testing on lab equipment provided. Must have completed all training required of Quality Inspector. Will function as lead for all QA Technicians. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Abides by all Amcor’s Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Assures the quality of manufactured products and processes per SOP’s and GMP’s. Maintains standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation. Maintains sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions. For recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Maintains programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. Complies and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Maintains and monitors manufacturing control plans for process control. Implement and monitor SPC activity as required by the customer and Engineering Specification testing. Monitor all product and process activities daily for corrective action and continuous improvement. Maintenance of reports and implement containment and corrective actions. Monitor new product launches for concerns and implement preventive actions. QSE procedures application and knowledge. Ensures quality policies, procedures, processes are followed. Identify and record any problems relating to the product process and quality system. Ability to read and write in English. Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers/Supervisors. Properly uses Performs other quality-related functions as requested by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some post-secondary education preferred (i.e., Technical or Vocational education).
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Valid forklift license if applicable and or authorized.
  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values and enters this information into an on-line database accurately.
  • A strong mathematical ability is essential.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to work all shifts and required overtime.
