We are looking for a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our Performance Materials team in Wyandotte. Come create chemistry with us! As a Quality Laboratory Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality of high-performance materials that support the automotive, construction, consumer goods, and industrial markets. Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of lab or manufacturing experience, OR an associate degree in a technical or science-related field and 1 year of experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of chemistry, math, and statistics fundamentals
  • Are computer proficient, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Are experienced working within quality management systems (ISO, IATF, RCMS)
  • Possess clear and effective communication skills across functions and shifts
  • Are able to work independently and cross-functionally with minimal supervision and have a team-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and adaptability to change
  • Are willing and able to work 12hr shifts (night/weekend/holidays/on call)
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs and climb stairs
  • Are familiar with Laboratory and Mechanical Equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical and chemical testing on in-process and finished goods, per defined sample plans and methods
  • Accurately record and enter test results into electronic systems (SAP, LIMS, etc.)
  • Operate and maintain injection molding machines to prepare test specimens
  • Conduct non-routine and proficiency testing as needed
  • Verify calibration and perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Identify and react to out-of-specification conditions and maintain related documentation
  • Prepare, label, and track hazardous waste generated during QC operations
  • Collaborate across teams to resolve quality concerns and support production goals
  • Release production lots in the quality system
  • Support the continuous improvement of lab procedures and documentation
  • Color sample evaluation via spectrophotometer
