About The Position

The function of this position is to conduct chemical, physical and optical tests on raw and finished titanium dioxide pigment and its process streams and to similarly test paints and plastics made from finished pigment. 12-hour rotating shifts to include nights and weekend. Also ensures the operation of the plant in an environmentally responsible manner in compliance with the Environmental Policy. This position is part of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality department reporting directly to the Quality Laboratory Lead. Full-time starting hourly pay rate is $30.76. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Natural science degree preferred.
  • 3 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Deductive reasoning and analytical skills required.
  • Related laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional human relations skills required.
  • Internal candidates must have a MX or above on most recent evaluation and no active corrective action documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical, physical and optical tests on raw and finished titanium dioxide pigment and its process streams and to similarly test paints and plastics made from finished pigments.
  • Perform required work without injury to self, others, the environment, or physical surroundings.
  • Judge the acceptability of test results to determine the need for repeat analysis or additional sampling.
  • Record and report results of assigned tests.
  • Compositing finished pigment samples.
  • Prepare solutions used in the testing of raw and finished pigment.
  • Conduct safety meetings.
  • Perform required work and paperwork in support of ISO activity.
  • Consistently applies Outward Mindset Principles & Tools.
