About The Position

This role is on 3rd shift, 11p to 7a Sunday-Thursday. The position involves testing in-process, final, and middle samples using industry/company approved technologies. Responsibilities include making adjustments to batches based on in-process and final sample results, boxing samples for storage, answering phone calls during off-hours, testing or approving incoming raw materials, and recording test results into the QTL database, ensuring completeness and accuracy of data. The role also requires printing certificates of analysis (C of A) for distribution to appropriate personnel, calibrating testing instruments (including pH meter, viscometers, and temperature baths), moving testing materials as required, and following standard operating procedures during the use of equipment. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment and obtaining assistance from supervisors or higher-level production personnel when problems arise are also key responsibilities. The candidate must work the assigned hours and/or shift and meet attendance requirements, providing coverage on other shifts and weekends as needed, sometimes on short notice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Associate's Degree or Technician Certification preferred.
  • 0 - 2 years related experience, testing or quality control lab experience or applicable experience required.
  • Good scientific knowledge and understanding of basic scientific principles.
  • Proficiency with various types of procedures and equipment.
  • Skilled in using effective project planning and implementation methods to achieve goals.
  • Understanding of computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google, and function-specific software.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable on how to make accurate mathematical computations.
  • Skilled in interfacing effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
  • Must be able to work other shifts as needed to cover workflow, absences/vacations, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Tests in-process, final and middle samples using industry/company approved technologies.
  • Makes adjustments to batches based upon in-process and final sample results.
  • Boxes samples for storage.
  • Answers phone calls during off-hours.
  • Tests or approves incoming raw materials.
  • Records test results into QTL database, judging for completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Prints certificate of analysis (C of A) for distribution to appropriate personnel.
  • Calibrates testing instruments, including pH meter, viscometers, and temperature baths.
  • Moves testing materials as required, including weighing non-bulk items.
  • Follows standard operating procedures during use of equipment.
  • Cleans testing equipment.
  • Follows safety procedures when handling materials and running equipment.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
  • Obtains assistance from supervisor or higher level production personnel if problems arise or normal instructions are insufficient.
  • Works the hours and/or shift assigned and meets attendance requirements.
  • Provides coverage on other shifts and weekends as needed, sometimes on short notice.
