Requirements

Must not be color blind.
Prior quality/wet lab experience or entry-level graduate with AS or BS in Science.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with color matching is a plus.
Experience working with paint, pigments, coatings is advantageous.
Industrial lab experience doing basic wet chemistry such as viscosity, pH, and percentage of solids is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow a batch ticket (recipe) with a high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements.
Perform a wide variety of complex testing processes on production batches, such as viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, color characteristics, and other tests.
Test materials from suppliers and production batches.
Conduct standard testing procedures, including preparation of materials, with attention to detail and high quality.
Follow daily work plan for Lab Work Request or project plan.
Accurately document work in lab notebooks, either physical or electronic.
Recognize roadblocks or anomalies and resolve them or communicate concerns with a chemist in a timely manner.
Ensure raw materials are available and correctly labeled.
Correctly label and mail samples.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Tint batches without assistance.
Calculate resin composites.
Maintain QC records using a web-based computer system.
Prepare records for submission.
Perform testing on lab equipment such as viscosity, pH, weight per gallon, and percentage of solids.
Perform draw downs.
Utilize ovens.
Maintain and perform calibrations on machines.
