About The Position

The Quality Assurance Laboratory Planner & Supervisor is responsible for planning, scheduling, reviewing, and approving the testing and data generated according to order requirements. This role involves supervising Laboratory Technicians in executing tests and managing day-to-day activities such as shift hand-offs, assigning work priorities, enforcing plant rules, and investigating incidents. The position requires effective communication with Manufacturing, logistics, and Q&T personnel regarding material test status and planning issues.

Requirements

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage high workloads and multitask.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a mechanical test laboratory environment preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP, LIMS/STAR, and MS Office applications.
• Demonstrated supervisory capability.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and familiarity with customer and national standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan the Quality test requirements by reviewing customer specifications and ensuring compliance.
• Schedule tests and prioritize according to production schedules.
• Monitor test progress and communicate with metallurgists and operations.
• Review and approve test data, ensuring all results meet specifications.
• Supervise lab technicians, maximizing efficiency and quality of work.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
• Resolve technician questions regarding tests or samples.
• Oversee shift coverage, manning levels, and vacation scheduling.
• Communicate safety requirements and ensure safe working practices.
