Overview The Quality Intern will support the Quality department by developing and implementing the Incoming Inspection process for DRP Gen 2 and 6T components. This role will be responsible for conducting inspections, documenting results, maintaining quality records, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with product specifications and supplier requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical field
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings, tolerances, and basic measurement tools
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and communicate findings effectively
  • Interest in manufacturing, battery systems, quality systems, or process engineering
  • ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) the individual must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming inspections on DRP Gen 2 and 6T parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and visual standards
  • Develop inspection documentation, including checklists, work instructions, and acceptance criteria
  • Log inspection data into Smartsheet, ERP, or other designated quality systems
  • Review inspection results with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality to identify trends or recurring issues
  • Assist in establishing standardized inspection workflows, sampling plans, and templates
  • Support nonconforming material handling and supplier quality processes as needed
  • Participate in problem-solving, root cause discussions, and corrective action verification
  • Maintain organized records and ensure traceability of incoming material evaluations
  • Provide weekly progress updates to the Quality Manager
  • Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to leadership
  • Ensure punctuality, reliability and acceptable attendance
  • Follow Company Policies and Quality System Processes
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management
