The Supplier Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of purchased components and materials from receiving inspection through internal use and final product performance at the customer. This role plays a critical part in verifying compliance to specifications, identifying and resolving quality issues with suppliers, and driving continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.

  • Perform receiving inspections on first articles and production parts; document results in inspection records.
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using standard metrology equipment and tools.
  • Assist in root cause analysis for supplier-related non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve quality/performance issues.
  • Provide technical support and analysis regarding systemic supplier quality concerns.
  • Initiate and facilitate corrective actions to prevent recurrence of failures.
  • Collect and analyze failure data to support continuous improvement with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other internal teams.
  • Support internal audits to ensure compliance with GIW's Quality Management System.
  • Maintain calibration and functionality of metrology equipment and inspection tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection or supplier quality.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in metrology, visual inspection, and interpreting GD&T, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (passport may be required).
  • Associate degree or higher in a technical field preferred.
