About The Position

Handle and inspect products produced at MCO-I or received from and possibly at suppliers to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 5-10 years in manufacturing inspection preferred.
• English speaking, reading, and writing skills and have the ability to clearly communicate in English; have the ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction.
• Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Strong work ethic (willingness to work hard and long hours, when needed).
• Mathematics Skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to read, interpret, and work from engineering prints, drawings, sketches, inspection test plans, customer specifications and technical communications.
• Must be capable of efficiently performing in process and final inspections on machined components with high accuracy.
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including all gauging, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards.
• Computer skills – general knowledge of word processing software, excel, email and manufacturing schedules.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced math skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry).
• GD&T Fundamentals / Metrology, Gage Design & Calibration Experience, CMM and Faro Arm experienced/trained must have dimensional inspection skills to tight tolerance limits.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of teamwork, compliance and continual improvement.
• Adhere to the Company's objectives, i.e. Safety, Quality, Environmental and Information Security.
• Ensure compliance with departments standard procedures.
• Apply the Quality Tenets and referred practices in all aspects of production.
• Open NCR’s for defect tracking – ensure complete information is applied, containment of all affected parts and physical marking have been applied to parts and that parts remain marked until disposition applied and any required remedial action is applied.
• Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Interpret engineering drawings, P&ID’s, customer specifications, ITP’s, Quality Plans or other related specifications and confer with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical/fabrication and electrical characteristics.
• Record test data, applying statistical techniques as necessary.
• Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum within limits of equipment capabilities.
• Inspect machined components quickly, and be responsible for the quality of own work.
• Complete and produce Quality documentation and tagging that illustrates compliance and traceability requirements as required.
• Receive training, demonstrate proficiency and become certified in NDE testing as required.
• Conduct all shop inspection in support of the CSB processes and procedures, including receiving inspection, dimensional inspection, FA inspections, GDT skills including CMM and Faro operation and possible supplier inspection at their facilities.
• Act as liaison and host customer witness inspectors in assigned area as required – answering only known questions (seeking assistance where not known) to ensure only facts are presented.
