Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am Position Overview: Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles.As a Quality Inspector I, you will support a broad range of complex and critical inspection procedures and documentation activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world.
Requirements
- High school education or state recognized GED.
- Requires basic understanding of assembly and production processes.
- Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality Assurance role.
- Requires basic understanding of inspection methods and equipment, and the ability to perform complex shop mathematics.
- Ability to interpret and use blueprints, specs, engineering drawings, materials lists and inspection standards.
- Requires a minimum of one-year experience of interfacing with quality functions.
- Willingness to travel to Sacramento, California for training, including an initial trip of at least two weeks and additional travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Follow general inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
- Perform complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
- May conduct first article inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Make visual inspections and established quality checks.
- Identification and handling of discrepant material, understanding part flow requirements and supporting associated actions.
