About The Position

US Farathane is seeking a Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift . This position is responsible for supporting the Quality System, including auditing in-process product per instructions, completing associated documentation and assisting with other quality department tasks based on customer demand. US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black-box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPEs and TPOs as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence, and to speak and present information effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to do simple math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to add positive and negative numbers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards
  • Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Regularly lifting or lowering objects up to 30 pounds
  • Frequent reaching above/below shoulder and forward
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job including ability to adjust focus
  • The employee must have the ability to distinguish color variation.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and inspect materials and parts to discover defects, wear, and tear
  • Ensure that products or parts conform to work orders, specifications, blueprints, and templates.
  • Inspect materials and finished parts, determine if the product or part is in conformance with specifications, and adjust process or assembly equipment.
  • Re-work parts per work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and complex text equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
