We are Dover Precision Components, #LifeAtDPC The Quality Inspector will control the inflow and outflow of work and prioritize jobs in inspection to ensure required shipment dates are met for the Inspection department.

Requirements

  • Must have one year certificate from college or technical school
  • 5+ years of related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is often somewhat loud.
  • In this role you will be working with various machinery an metalworking materials in a machine shop environment including but not limited to: cutting fluids, lubricants, and metal shavings.
  • You will be required to wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, hearing protection, gloves, and adhere to all safety procedures

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications
  • Perform cleaning, fitting, filing, tapping, reaming, blending, polishing and aligning to ensure free action and proper operation of movable parts
  • Set-up and calibrate precision measuring equipment and measure precision parts and assemblies to tolerances of +/- .0002”
  • Record data and complete inspection reports
  • Perform bearing bump checks
  • Use precision measuring instruments, gauging devices and perform various quality inspection procedures including but not limited to; dimensional verification, nondestructive testing, UT and Megger Test
  • Perform visual inspection of components, complete final inspection reports, complete Certificate of Conformance reports and release product for shipment and recognize defective parts
  • Competent & self-sufficient in utilizing the hydraulic press when needed to complete assemblies
  • Demonstrate effective communication
  • Soldering, puddling and/or similar operations may be required
  • Assume responsibility for quality and functionality of parts and assemblies
  • Work with customer representatives and/or travel to customers site to provide training, problem solving as required
  • Identify problems and initiate ECN (Engineering Change Notice) as needed
  • Institute department daily reviews to ensure continuous improvement
