About The Position

The Resource Center has been providing services to persons with disabilities in the Chautauqua County area since 1958. From our humble beginnings as a gathering of parents and concerned citizens who wanted to provide educational and training opportunities for persons with developmental and intellectual disabilities, The Resource Center has grown into a comprehensive agency providing services to thousands of persons with all types and levels of disabilities. The Resource Center is the largest non-governmental employer in Chautauqua County with more than 1,300 employees on its payroll. The mission of The Resource Center is to support individuals with disabilities and other challenges in achieving maximum independence, contributing to their community, experiencing lifelong growth, and enjoying quality of life. QUALITY INSPECTOR RESPONSIBLE TO: Quality Manager FUNCTION: To perform inspections and ensure TRC Allied products and processes meet quality standards. Complete all necessary inspections as per the quality control plan including receiving, in-process, and final inspection. Methods include visual inspection, measurements and functional testing of products.

Requirements

  • Familiar with QM systems like ISO 9001. Must possess good written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and understand work orders and blueprints with attention to detail. Ability to accurately read and record measurements using rulers, scales and calipers.
  • High school diploma.
  • Some experience working with quality systems or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an industrial quality management system like ISO 9001 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Approves incoming materials by conducting visual and measurement checks per the quality standard, confirming incoming parts meet specifications. Rejects and controls unacceptable non-conforming materials as per the QMS procedure.
  • Performs in-process inspection by conducting visual and measurement checks to the quality standard. Confirms products meet specifications. Communicates any required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Performs final inspection by conducting visual and measurement checks per the quality standard and confirms finished product meets the specifications. Returns non-conforming product for rework per QMS and confirms re-work.
  • Documents the inspection results on standard forms summarizing the number of defects, type of defect and process responsible.
  • Reports non-conformance issues to the responsible department supervisor. Records non-conformance issues as per the QMS.
  • Records SPC data as required.
  • Completes assigned work associated with data analysis and problem-solving teams as required.
  • Helps to maintain monitoring and measuring equipment's as required.
