About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join our dynamic team at Petmate. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards before they reach the customer. This role involves conducting inspections and tests on products that are received at the facility. The Quality Inspector will work closely with receiving teams to ensure that quality control procedures are followed and to implement corrective actions when necessary. This role will also require you to communicate with various Quality control team members that will provide feedback to suppliers.

Requirements

• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, verbal or diagram form.
• Must be able to deal with problems in a variety of dynamic situations and make good decisions.
• Must possess effective people skills for use in training and working well with others.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel to manage data and information accurately and effectively.
• Must be able to read and understand quality inspection criteria documents.
• Demonstrated time management skills. Good self-starter, self-directed, and proven ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with product inspections in a distribution environment highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and tests on products as they are being received at the facility.
• Verify product specifications using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Identify and document defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Communicate quality issues to quality team and collaborate on corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company quality standards.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
