About The Position

Perform a variety of specific and detailed (form, fit and function) inspections which are required by Customers to ensure their product meets or exceeds specifications, requiring selection of inspection equipment, methods, procedures and techniques appropriate to the product and Customer expectations. Perform final inspection of completed assemblies, raw material and purchased parts. This position will train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift as home shift. - Make certain all checklists, red tags and written process changes are complete and cleared by certified personnel signatures. Notify area supervisors, production managers and others as required of problems in a timely manner to resolve CAR's prior to shipment due dates. - Collect defect information per product and track for appropriate long term resolutions to CAR's. - Keep records on all defect information to establish historical database - Properly use and maintain inspection equipment. - Review drawings and examine structures to isolate defects and utilize all appropriate resources such as supervisors, production managers, engineers and product managers. - Support problem solving and continuous improvement efforts - Observe all safety and hygiene requirements as specified or directed. Maintain a clean, orderly and safe workplace. - Verify assembly work completion to the specification - Reject parts withhold tags received from work areas are inspected to verify nonconformance. If a nonconformance exists, all items must be inspected and corrective action taken according to established procedures. - Properly utilize and maintain inspection measuring equipment. - Pull drawings, isolate the part defect and notify engineers, drafters, buyers, coordinators, supervisors, vendors, etc. - Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines. - Move material utilizing a pallet jack

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization and with Customers
  • Skilled at using a computer with prior experience using the Internet, Technical Systems Platforms, SAP and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, measure parts, read digital and analog measuring devices, and calculate measurement variances against a specification
