About The Position

The Quality Inspector Squad D is responsible for performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections of products and components to ensure they meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. This role operates during the night shift and is critical for maintaining high product quality and identifying defects before they impact production or delivery.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in a technical field or related certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various inspection and measurement tools accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with data entry and quality management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work the designated night shift (7:45 PM - 8:00 AM) and occasional overtime as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of manufactured products and components according to established procedures, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including identification of non-conforming materials or products.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for identified defects and participate in root cause analysis as required.
  • Communicate inspection findings effectively to production personnel, supervisors, and quality engineers.
  • Perform first-piece inspections, in-process audits, and final product release inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure proper calibration and handling of inspection equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to address quality issues and support timely resolution.
