Quality Inspector-Part Time
About The Position
The Quality Inspector acts as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to ensure the product meets set criteria. The Quality Inspector performs quality inspection / quality audits on incoming material using hand gaging and visual techniques to determine conformance to specifications and fitness for use. Contains non-conforming parts and/or sub-assemblies. Rectifies non-conforming material by rework, sorting and/or scrapping as directed by Team Leader. Uses methods such as de-rusting, grinding, drilling, tapping, assembly and/or disassembly to rectify non-conforming material. Determines the tools and equipment needed to do the job. Grinds, sands, cleans and oils parts and/or sub-assemblies by using hand tools or equipment. Communicate sort/inspection results to managers, supervisors and production source.
Requirements
- MUST be able to use basic hand tools such as gaging, drills, taps, grinders and/or sanders to repair and/or clean parts and/or sub-assemblies
- Utilize company portal for time recording and policy acknowledgements
- Good communications skills
- Must be able to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, lift, twist and move freely
- Ability to periodically lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation
- 1+ year in Quality related position
- Basic knowledge of materials and production processes
- Basic knowledge of quality control methods
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
