Requirements

  • Hazard Recognition – knows/understands hazards of the job assignments before starting a job.
  • Reading/Writing skills (literacy) as required.
  • Mathematics – Know advanced shop math and other functions necessary for the job.
  • Complete the SMS group New Employee Orientation
  • Complete the OSHA General Industry 10 Hour Course
  • Review and assist with development of all job related JSA’s/ Work Instructions.
  • Complete the SMS group Crane and Rigging Training.
  • Complete the SMS group Forklift Operator Training.
  • Complete Basic ISO Training.
  • Complete all training and education deemed necessary by management.

Responsibilities

  • Be a safety-minded worker who is drug & alcohol free and dependable with an excellent attendance record.
  • Report and/or correct all unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report any safety incidents to the supervisor and/or safety specialist immediately.
  • Take measurements using the Faro arm, micrometers, and calipers accurately.
  • Mentor other employees as needed.
  • Perform minimal cleaning, grinding, and deburring on all related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, and/or subassemblies.
  • Perform simple assembly work as needed.
  • Use the 5-S program to keep area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Move equipment and parts using forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
  • Assist other employees as directed by management or group leaders.
  • Complete forms, work routers, and related paperwork accurately and legible.
  • Perform crack testing as needed.
  • Record measurements on an inspection form.
