About The Position

The Lasko Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that box fan products and related components meet defined quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role performs inspections, measurements, and documentation across metal pressing, metal painting, injection molding, and final assembly processes. This is a hands-on plant floor position located in Franklin, TN .

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret: Engineering drawings and specifications Inspection criteria and control plans
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes preferred: Metal pressing and forming Paint/coating processes Injection molding Mechanical and electrical assembly
  • Proficient with basic measurement tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify cosmetic and functional defects.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality or inspection role preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in metal fabrication, painting/coating, injection molding, or assembly environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of common quality tools (check sheets, defect tracking, basic root cause analysis).

Responsibilities

  • In-Process Inspections Conduct inspections during: Metal Pressing: Dimensional accuracy, burrs, deformation Metal Painting: Coating thickness, adhesion, coverage, cosmetic defects Injection Molding: Part dimensions, flash, short shots, sink marks, color Assembly: Fit, function, labeling, wiring, and safety features
  • Perform final product inspections of box fans for appearance, functionality, and safety.
  • Measurement and Testing Use appropriate measuring and test equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, coating thickness meters, and visual inspection tools.
  • Verify products against engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Conduct basic functional and safety checks (e.g., rotation, noise, guards, labeling).
  • Documentation and Reporting Accurately record inspection results in logs, check sheets, or electronic systems.
  • Identify, segregate, and clearly label nonconforming material.
  • Communicate defects and trends to production, quality, or supervision.
  • Support containment, re-inspection, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Quality System Support Follow established quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections as required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement by identifying recurring defects and process issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper calibration status of inspection tools.
