About The Position
We're looking for a sharp-eyed Quality Assurance & Gate Inspector to manage traffic, grade materials, and ensure every load meets our high standards at our busy pier-side recycling depot. If you love variety, problem-solving, and working outdoors, this role keeps things moving - literally!
Responsibilities
- Control all vehicles entering/exiting the pier yard - keep traffic flowing smoothly.
- Act as first point of contact for customers: resolve issues, build relationships, deliver top-tier service.
- Grade incoming/outgoing scrap to EMR standards - accuracy is key.
- Identify & separate non-conforming materials, document evidence, apply correct penalties.
- Update reports & EMR database (Excel-based) with precision.
- Assist in hand-sorting metals into correct bays, bales, or containers.
- Support H&S compliance and daily yard operations.
