About The Position

Dynamic Sealing Technologies, Inc. (DSTI) of Andover, MN is looking to hire a Quality Inspector. As a Quality Inspector, you are responsible for accurate testing, verification and inspection of materials/purchased goods, machined components, assembled Rotary Unions, and outgoing product per Industry and DSTI standards. You embrace technology and are comfortable using programs like Microsoft Word for work instruction, CMMS systems for task assignment and Outlook for email. We will provide training on our specific technology tools, but you must be comfortable using a computer as part of your daily duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, some post-secondary education preferred.
  • 1-3+ years of previous experience in a quality assurance position with PC-DMIS programming exposure.
  • Proficiency with CMM operation & PCDMIS software preferred.
  • ISO 9001 understanding and application required.
  • Prior experience with GD&T strongly preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Products including Outlook, Work and Excel.
  • Proficient in the use of MRP/ERP systems (Epicor, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
  • Organizational abilities, both in physical and electronic workspaces.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team as well as work independently.
  • A high degree of mechanical aptitude is required.

Responsibilities

  • Verify specified dimensions of product or material using CMM and Hard Gaging.
  • Reject defective parts following DSTI procedure, and report findings to supervisor.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Create detailed documentation describing non-conformance and deviations.
  • Visual inspection of welds and various types of plating.
  • Take product photos according to DSTI standards including proper sizing and digital labeling.
  • Prepare documentation for shipments per customer and DSTI specifications.
  • Provide suggestions for improvement both within the department and throughout the company.
  • Perform job duties safely and within DSTI's established safety programs.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • May be asked to operate a CNC machine.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
