About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring aerospace components meet all customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements through incoming, in-process, and final inspections. This role supports precision manufacturing operations by verifying product conformity, maintaining documentation accuracy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards throughout the production lifecycle.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing quality systems and inspection practices.
  • Understanding of AS9100 and AS9102 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Familiarity with inspection documentation, traceability requirements, and quality records.
  • Awareness of composite and metallic aircraft component inspection methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use precision measurement and inspection tools effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • If a Security Clearance is required: Candidates "must/may need" to be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Successful candidates must be able to secure Program Access approval

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of aerospace quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience inspecting composite and/or metallic aircraft components preferred.
  • Experience with composite parts, transparencies, or aircraft windows is a plus.
  • Technical or vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of composite and metallic aerospace components.
  • Verify product conformance using engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pit gauges, dial indicators, and CMM reports.
  • Complete and maintain First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation in compliance with AS9102 requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconformances; generate NCR/MRB documentation as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of part counts, labeling, certifications, and traceability documentation.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support internal and external audits and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized inspection area and comply with all safety and quality procedures.
