About The Position

This individual will work in the completion stage of quality control and continuous improvement activities at SCS Interiors. Responsibilities will include: inspection of all SCS Interiors’ products; support processes for ISO; assist with making product-specified labels; facilitate process efficiencies and effectiveness on the production floor. SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential functions for this position are indicated by an asterisk () below. The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following functions: 1. Concurrent production and final inspection of all SCS Interiors’ products before delivery to the customer. 1.1. Inspect products as they are being developed to assure compliance with drawings and customer specifications 1.2. Inspect every product before it is shipped from SCS Interiors using drawing measurements for the order and/or internal inspection criteria. 1.3. Pull any product from shipping/delivery that does not meet inspection criteria. 1.4. Communicate with the Director of Production to correct the deficiencies. 1.5. Ensure data is accurately entered into Jobboss2 (E2) ERP system. 2. Obtain Certifications of Compliance for outgoing SCS Interiors’ products. 2.1. Obtain and assure accuracy for all Certificates of Compliance to be sent with products. 2.2. Assure all required paperwork is present before the item is shipped/delivered. 2.3. Sign Certifications before delivery of product. 3. Monitor the Receiving Records process to assure that the person completing the process on a daily basis is doing so accurately. 3.1. Periodically audit the Receiving Records process to assure that all elements are properly recorded, and any missing information is obtained from the specific vendor. 3.2. Assure that all Receiving Records are complete and properly filed for future reference. 3.3. Participate in the Materials Review Board for rejected materials. 4. Inspect First Article and First Piece Items as they occur. 4.1. Measure all First Article and/or First Piece items to verify they meet specifications. 4.2. Require a remake of items out of compliance. 4.3 Develop First Article ballooned drawings and AS9102 or PPAP documents using Inspection Xpert software 4.4. Document all First Article Inspections are documented using AS9102, PPAP or other customer specific documents. 4.5. Assemble First Article “Cert Packs” including but not limited to First Article Inspection results, material and burn certifications, ballooned drawings and deliver to customer with shipment or via email or customer portals as required by customer 5. Assist in periodic shelf-life audits of stock to ensure materials are within required shelf life 6. Audit the quality of documentation in the Production area on a regular basis. 6.1. Review the documentation on Work Orders at least weekly to assure they are complete. 6.2. Review the documentation in the Production Maintenance Log to assure it is completed monthly. 6.3. Assess Production procedures to determine if any need to be updated or if some are missing and need to be written. 6.4. Assure that the designated production tools are calibrated according to a defined schedule and documentation is maintained. 6.5. Assist with review of new or changed drawings for dimensional changes, mandated materials and burn stack ups. 6.6. Complete quarterly checks of all production templates to assure they measure to specifications. 7. Facilitate the implementation of the SCS Interiors’ Quality Management System Program 7.1. Complete Audits as requested; 7.2. Participates as a team member in the implementation and maintenance of ISO standards; 7.3. Assist with the Supplier Survey every two years 7.4. Support the ISO standards quality and risk management expectations at all times; 7.5. Participate in the ISO Certification assessments as requested. 7.6 Assist with training of new employees as it pertains to quality 7.7 Assist in promoting a culture of quality and safety throughout the company 7.8. Assist in answering employee questions pertaining to quality. 8. Other 8.1. Work cooperatively with the Director of Quality and Director of Production to assess proficiency in work performance for new hires and completion of respective training records. 8.2. Participate in SCS Interiors’ Quality Management Program. 8.3. Participate in all SCS Interiors’ Safety, and other company-wide processes and educational efforts. 8.4. Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prior work experience in quality control/quality inspection work required:
  • Applied experience in measuring and determining compliance with drawing specifications;
  • Understands and can explain the importance of traceability in materials;
  • Willing to participate in professional development/continuing educational activities.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand written and oral English instructions;
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of all employee and company information;
  • Able to effectively utilize computer technology for position responsibilities.
  • Able to support SCS Interiors’ Mission Statement as well as policies and procedures;
  • Maintains a current, valid driver’s license;
  • Able to relate well and effectively to other individuals;
  • Demonstrates strong public relations/customer service skills, tact, and diplomacy;
  • Represents SCS Interiors in a professional manner at all times;
  • Works effectively with the Management team.
