About The Position

The Quality Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring that components and assemblies meet stringent industry standards and product specifications. This position is responsible for conducting detailed inspections using precision measuring instruments and optical comparators to verify the accuracy and quality of parts throughout the production process. The inspector will perform First Article Inspections to validate new or modified products before full-scale manufacturing begins, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements. By identifying defects or deviations early, the Quality Inspector helps maintain high-quality standards, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role ensures that only products meeting exacting aerospace quality standards proceed through the assembly line, safeguarding safety and reliability in aerospace applications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in quality inspection or metrology.
• Proven experience in First Article Inspection and quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
• Strong understanding of aerospace industry standards and product specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as a Quality Inspector (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector) a plus.
• Experience working in maritime manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (QMS).
• Knowledge of assembly line processes and lean manufacturing principles.
• Advanced training in metrology or non-destructive testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Perform First Article Inspections on new or revised aerospace components to verify conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers and optical comparators to conduct dimensional and visual inspections on parts and assemblies.
• Conduct routine quality checks along the assembly line to detect defects or deviations from product specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and communicate findings to engineering and production teams for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support root cause analysis and implement quality improvement measures.
