About The Position

Established in 1987, Triad Metals International is a privately held, independent company that has grown to become one of the premier distributors of structural steel, tubing, piling, and plate products. We are looking to hire a Quality Inspector to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia! Successful Candidates will be expected to: Inspect, approve, and document incoming and in-process materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Maintain daily production and efficiency records for the facility. Take part in efficiency efforts. Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and calling for repairs. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Support root-cause analysis and corrective action activities when quality issues arise Maintain shop data collection and reporting Accomplish the quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Experience with AWS D1.1
  • Visual weld certification
  • Experience in root cause and corrective action programs
  • One to two years' quality inspector experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Basic Computer and Math Skills are required
