About The Position

This position involves the visual and basic inspection and sorting of die cast parts per control plan. The Quality Inspector is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to make sure they meet customer requirements. Duties will include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests, and identifying defects.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year experience
• GD&T training preferred but not required
• Proficient in reading and interpreting data, reports, instructions, and guidelines
• Basic computer skills & experience
• Familiarity with machining processes and machine shop practices
• Familiarity of other measuring devices (calipers, depth gage, height gage, Dial indicators, Micrometers, Optical Comparator)
• Able to work well with others and build positive employee relations

Responsibilities

• Collects product at die casting machine and inspects for visual defects
• Inspects parts per instructions on an intermittent basis and records findings
• Completes production documentation at die cast machine
• Scraps and records non-conforming parts
• Able to use basic measuring devices including calipers, plug gages, special fixtures, and others
• Knowledgeable in die casting defects
• Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes
• Inspects and tests the materials and product manufactured
• Remove product that does not meet production standards and recommend strategies to improve product quality
• Accept or reject finished product and discuss inspection results with the production team
• Perform inspections at random to assess product quality
