The position involves performing quality control and quality assurance inspections, checks, and tests on mechanical and electrical components of power control buildings, equipment centers, and enclosures at various stages of completion. The role requires recording any observed non-conformities, defects, or discrepancies and ensuring that rework is completed satisfactorily before the product moves on to the next step in the process. Inspectors will utilize their knowledge of standards and codes such as the National Electric Code, CSA, building codes, UL, NEMA, IEEE, SSPC, NACE, AWS, and CWB to conduct thorough inspections. Additionally, the position involves providing appropriate paperwork to truck drivers and authorizing product release prior to shipping. The inspector will also plan and accomplish goals set forth by the Quality Manager, communicate with 2nd and 3rd party inspectors and customers during factory acceptance tests, and collaborate with various levels of management and personnel. Field service or advisory roles may be assigned as needed, and the inspector will work to reduce production defects by driving continuous improvement processes to ensure quality products and services that meet or exceed customer requirements. The role also includes utilizing quality metrics to improve and document procedures while driving standardization, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and coaching and training employees to enhance performance.
