Come join a rapidly growing team where you can take ownership of your role and build your career at MacroFab. macrofab.com We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) in a high-mix, fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IPC standards and be skilled in identifying defects, verifying workmanship, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in electronics or quality preferred
  • 2+ years of experience inspecting PCBAs in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and other relevant quality standards (certification a plus)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or quality management systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections of PCBAs using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools
  • Verify component placement, soldering, polarity, and labeling according to IPC-A-610 standards
  • Inspect surface mount (SMT) and through-hole solder joints for quality and conformance
  • Document inspection results, discrepancies, and nonconformities using internal quality systems
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
  • Perform first article inspections, in-process checks, and final quality audits
  • Ensure all materials and assemblies meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow all safety protocols
  • Assist with calibration and care of inspection tools and equipment
