Come join a rapidly growing team where you can take ownership of your role and build your career at MacroFab. macrofab.com We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) in a high-mix, fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IPC standards and be skilled in identifying defects, verifying workmanship, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry specifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in electronics or quality preferred
2+ years of experience inspecting PCBAs in an electronics manufacturing environment
Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and other relevant quality standards (certification a plus)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and work instructions
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or quality management systems

Responsibilities

Perform visual and mechanical inspections of PCBAs using microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools
Verify component placement, soldering, polarity, and labeling according to IPC-A-610 standards
Inspect surface mount (SMT) and through-hole solder joints for quality and conformance
Document inspection results, discrepancies, and nonconformities using internal quality systems
Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
Perform first article inspections, in-process checks, and final quality audits
Ensure all materials and assemblies meet customer specifications and internal quality standards
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts
Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and follow all safety protocols
Assist with calibration and care of inspection tools and equipment
