About The Position

The Quality Inspector at Graham Packaging Company is responsible for ensuring the quality of bottles and final packaging before shipment. This role involves training new personnel, conducting quality checks, and collaborating with supervisors and production staff to maintain high-quality standards. The position operates on a night shift schedule and requires adherence to safety and quality policies.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing required.
  • 6 months of quality experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given parameters.
  • Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and contribute to group objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assure quality of bottles and final packages prior to shipment.
  • Train new personnel on quality importance and plant quality systems.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement projects.
  • Compare product on each line with the production schedule and inform Supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Conduct visual checks of bottles and box glue patterns for final packaging audits.
  • Report rejected defects to PMTs and Supervisor, following through until correction.
  • Follow procedures for defective products and provide information to Supervisor when products are on hold.
  • Report completed rework of defective products according to established procedures.
  • Assist in training as assigned and help Supervisor as required.
  • Perform specified checks according to the Plant's inspection plan.
  • Verify operation of in-line inspection devices such as leak testers and vision systems.
  • Complete all reports and forms for product and process documentation.
  • Enter required data into the plant's Statistical Process Charts (SPC) database.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Quality Assurance inspection areas.
  • Communicate quality issues with other shifts and departments.
