Trace-A-Matic is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector in first/second shift with hands-on experience in dimensional inspection, machining methods, and interpreting manufacturing drawings using GD&T. This floor-based role requires proficiency with hand inspection tools, the ability to inspect castings and weldments, and strong communication and computer skills to document and report inspection results accurately. Requirements

• Strong background in dimensional inspection and machining method.
• Able to use a variety of hand inspection tools to conduct inspections.
• Must be able to interpret manufacturing drawings and understands GD&T.
• Ability to conduct casting and weldment layout inspections is a requirement.
• Ability to operate and program (PC-DMIS) a CMM.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
• Computer skills are required.
• Education: This position requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience and/or Training: 3 - 5 years of experience in quality inspection required, preferably in a machining or fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first piece inspections when requested by manufacturing personnel.
• Program and operate the CMM (PC-DMIS) to provide inspection.
• Interpret CMM output to provide clear evidence of our meeting specifications and/or provide clear direction for the machinist and manufacturing team.
• Conduct receiving inspection functions in accordance with Trace-A-Matic’s Receiving Inspection procedure and work instructions.
• Conduct final inspection functions in accordance with Trace-A-Matic’s Final Inspection procedure and work instructions.
• Audit in-process inspections when directed.
• Report results of all inspections to machinists and plant supervision.
• Initiate NCRs for out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Conduct casting and weldment layout inspections as directed.
• Create accurate inspection reports as required.
• Set up inspection gages when requested by machinists.
• Other duties as needed.
