About The Position

The Quality Inspector I at Modus Advanced is responsible for implementing quality processes during the receiving and first article inspection stages. This role ensures that product requirements are met before release, contributing to customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• GDT knowledge preferred.
• At least 2 years inspection experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
• English reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to work with others and self-manage.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards preferred.
• Proficiency with Business Central (ERP Software) and Inspection software.

Nice To Haves

• Decision making and deductive reasoning skills.
• Troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement Modus quality processes at the receiving and first article inspection stage.
• Verify initial product dimensional, cosmetic, drawing, and documentation requirements.
• Prioritize daily work to support shipping and fabrication department demands.
• Verify purchased parts using appropriate tools and record measurement data.
• Use measurement tools such as Laser QC, Calipers, Durometers, and Microvu.
• Make pass/fail judgments based on tolerances and sample sizes.
• Identify approved products and maintain protective packaging.
• Transport approved parts to the appropriate department.
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming products and communicate them to the appropriate persons.
• Prepare accurate documentation for first article and other inspection reports.
• Conduct visual inspections and sorting processes as necessary.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and traceable record-keeping using software programs.
