About The Position

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States. Inspect purchased material electrical components, wire, finished products and tooling by means of various inspection methods. The inspection methods may include visual, dimensional, and using automated and semi-automated test equipment. Inspector will ensure conformance to drawings, customer specifications and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and less than one year of specialized training or education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least six months experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, and technical descriptions.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of database software, word processing software, and spreadsheet software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; telephone skills; patience; problem solving skills; attention to detail; organization skills; accuracy; time management; basic computer skills.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets inspection or test instructions, product drawings, manuals, Manual Process Instructions, Quality Assurance Procedures, Process Control Documents, Mil-Specs, and Statement of Work, etc.
  • Performs inspection of assemblies and components to established standards by using a various number of methods which may include visual, dimensional, and using automated and semi-automated test equipment.
  • Determines acceptability of material and/or product from interpretations of customers drawings and specifications and industry standards.
  • Performs material handling of material and product in compliance with internal and external procedures.
  • Interacts with customer representatives and auditors.
  • Proofs and reviews Quality documents relating to inspection requirements and customer requirements.
  • Completes and maintains all necessary documents required for the job assignment.
  • Inputs data into database system for acceptable incoming received product, Inputs inspection characteristics and activity results into the quality database system.
  • Use results from quality database system to determine process needs and to give input for improvements.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
