Leidos’ Platform Integration Facility is seeking a Quality Inspector with Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) and portable arm experience to join our team. This position will be responsible for verifying machined, fabricated and assembled hardware meet specified drawing/CAD model requirements using CMM / Portable Arm, Hand Measuring Tools and Gages. Applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Will be required to work closely with engineers to understand requirements and interpret data. Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a High School diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of CMM experience.
  • Candidate must have knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings, must have a clear knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Must have experience in the use of micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
  • Candidate must be able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
  • Candidate must have Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Applicant must be able to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow
  • Must be willing to travel to other sites to support quality inspections as needed
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root-cause and implementing corrective action.
  • Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
  • Experience with complex aerospace hardware.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Experience with PC-DMIS, Solid Works Inspection, PolyWorks Metrology Suite, and Spatial Analyzer software is a plus
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Candidates with precision measurement experience of complex aerospace hardware are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying machined, fabricated and assembled hardware meet specified drawing/CAD model requirements using CMM / Portable Arm, Hand Measuring Tools and Gages.
