About The Position
The Quality Inspector position at Leonardo DRS, Inc. involves performing inspection activities within the CCA department to ensure that products conform to the design specifications as outlined in engineering drawings. This role is critical in maintaining the quality standards of the products manufactured by the company, which specializes in naval electronics and related services. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting various products, components, subassemblies, and systems to verify their compliance with established requirements. This includes not only the physical inspection of items but also the implementation of innovative solutions and best practices throughout the product realization value stream. In addition to inspection duties, the Quality Inspector will assist Quality Engineers in identifying non-conforming conditions that may lead to defective products at the system or subsystem level. This involves preparing inspection plans and checklists, collecting data, and conducting root cause analysis investigations to address any quality issues. The role also requires generating discrepancy notices and initiating Material Review Board actions when necessary. After completing the inspection process, the Quality Inspector will perform material movement transactions to ensure proper tracking and management of inspected items. The position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing standards and the ability to use various measurement devices to verify compliance with mechanical part specifications. The Quality Inspector will also need to effectively interpret data and communicate findings to engineers and other technical staff, ensuring that quality standards are upheld throughout the production process.
