Quality Inspector 2 Thursday - Saturday and every other Wednesday 6pm-6am Job Summary The Quality Inspector 2 at Jabil Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures for incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects or deviations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of materials, components, and finished products using appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Perform in-process inspections at various stages of production to verify compliance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, identifying and reporting any deviations or non-conformances.
  • Initiate and participate in non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective action processes as required.
  • Operate and maintain inspection equipment, ensuring calibration and proper functionality.
  • Assist in the identification and segregation of non-conforming materials.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, engineers, and other quality team members to resolve quality issues.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant safety procedures and quality management system requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on process enhancements.
  • May assist in training junior quality inspectors or production staff on quality standards and procedures.
