About The Position

The Quality Assurance Inspector 1 examines products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications. This position is responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards through various inspection processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • Ability to work on a team and collaborate with others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and physical tests; communicating required adjustments, issues, or trends.
  • Approves finished goods by confirming specifications; conducting visual and physical tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Engages in preassembly-preparatory work such as cleaning of the housing, removal of excess adhesives, degreasing nuts and screws, and greasing of O-rings and seal rings.
  • Conducts visual inspections for abnormalities such as dents, missing parts, and general integrity of the product; checks for minor cosmetic issues such as scratches, nicks, switch operations, and general workmanship.
  • Visually inspects the holographic image, glass components, and housing by looking at the surface quality.
  • Physically inspects the holographic image, glass components, and housing to assure every component falls within tolerance dictated by the product specifications and customer requirements.
  • Cleans smudges, removes dust or debris, and performs minor re-work during the inspection process.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizes re-work and waste; inputs data into quality database.
  • Notifies supervisor and senior QC Inspectors when defects are found; helps analyze and correct production problems.
  • Performs image inspection using a computer-based high-accuracy measurement system to inspect the holographic image for image brightness.
  • Packs, labels, and scans throughout in-process production.
  • Maintains personal grooming and attire appropriate for the position.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and responsibility for work coverage during absences.
  • Follows instructions and management direction; takes responsibility for own actions.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; seeks ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Maintains compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists with production/assembly related work as directed by supervisor.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
