About The Position

UHS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Coordinator to help enhance the care and services delivered to all UHSH customers. This role supports a variety of hospital quality committees and performance improvement initiatives, working closely with clinical and administrative teams to promote patient safety, efficiency, and service excellence. By engaging in collaborative problem‑solving and supporting ongoing quality efforts, the coordinator contributes to advancing organizational standards and outcomes. In addition, the Quality Improvement Coordinator will analyze, interpret, and report data in alignment with regulatory agency requirements and UHSH policies. Responsibilities include monitoring performance indicators, preparing clear and accurate reports, and assisting with the development and evaluation of improvement projects. This position plays a key role in guiding data‑driven decisions and fostering a strong culture of continuous quality improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QA/PI) activities with medical staff and licensed professionals across multiple hospital quality committees.
  • Schedule quality committee meetings, develop and distribute meeting materials, record and maintain meeting minutes, and track follow‑up actions through action logs.
  • Provide statistical analysis and reporting using UHSH clinical databases and vendor databases to support leaders and managers with assessment, trending, action planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Collect, validate, and present quality data to support organizational performance improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain quality assurance files for licensed employees and medical staff in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Assist in gathering and preparing data for medical staff Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE).
  • Support medical staff leadership with re‑credentialing by providing required data and summaries of quality and performance activities during the credentialing period.
  • Assist departmental managers with interpreting employee QA file contents and related quality findings.
  • Administer and manage access and reporting through the NYSDOH Health Commerce System.
