About The Position

The position involves working closely with the Director of Quality and other trauma program staff to develop and maintain a comprehensive quality improvement program. This includes educating physicians and staff on trauma-related topics, assisting in identifying and solving quality improvement issues, ensuring compliance with trauma quality improvement initiatives, and preparing necessary reports for regulatory and accrediting agencies. The role also requires evaluating trauma reports to identify opportunities for improvement and maintaining knowledge of data and regulatory requirements relevant to the program. Participation in staff meetings and providing in-service training is also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field preferred.
  • Minimum of Associate Degree required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience or equivalent in a medical or hospital setting required.
  • Prior experience in quality, regulatory, and/or compliance highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Director of Quality and other trauma program staff to plan, design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality improvement program.
  • Assists Director of Quality in identifying and problem solving quality improvement issues related to the trauma quality program.
  • Ensures compliance with trauma quality improvement initiatives and reviews records and documentation for abstraction.
  • Gathers data and prepares reports for submission of quality data to regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Evaluates trauma reports to assist Director of Quality in identifying opportunities for improvement and evaluating risk issues.
  • Maintains thorough and up-to-date knowledge of data and regulatory requirements applicable to assigned program areas.
  • Participates in staff meetings related to trauma quality improvement activities and provides in-service training to staff and providers.
  • Provides support by working closely with the IT team in optimizing electronic medical record systems and related clinical tools.
  • Utilizes multiple software applications to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, charts, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population.
