About The Position

Job Description Summary The quality floater is an inspector role trained in all production inspection areas of the plant. Interfaces with Production Management / Associates to contain nonconforming product when identified during inspection processing. Performs containment reduction sampling to identify the scope of the nonconformity within a production batch to allow release of conforming product and minimize impact to blocked stock. Tests/Inspects components and/or finished goods for acceptability and functionality. Provides quality related support to validations / projects as needed. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 Months of Quality Experience
  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts sampling, product testing, and visual inspection of components and/or finished goods; identifying nonconforming materials and ensuring proper containment as required.
  • Report all product nonconformance issues to Quality Management, and Production Supervisor.
  • Initiates Quality Holds (QNs) and ensures the notifications are completed accurately and completely.
  • Engages in Safety, Quality, Production and Plant related programs as required (Safety Observations, Safety Gemba).
  • Record the results of inspections, tests, and audit findings on the appropriate forms and/or in the Quality Module of SAP.
  • Completes accurate, timely, and legible documentation of all inspection/testing data.
  • Stat sample or contain hold products as applicable per the appropriate specification requirements.
  • Reads and interprets sampling plans to determine sample size and/or accept/reject criteria.
  • If an identified Trainer, train new hire/transferred inspectors to inspect product per the appropriate specifications and utilize all gauges/ equipment pertaining to Quality Assurance testing.
